On July 15-19, Bleckley County was represented by Louie Lumley, BCHS Senior, and current Bleckley County FFA chapter Vice-President, at the Georgia Cooperative Council Youth Leadership Conference at the Georgia FFA/FCCLA Center in Covington.

The 5-day conference builds and enhances teen leadership skills and for participants to learn the role cooperatives play in the communities they serve. The leadership event promoted teamwork through a series of exercises, training, and presentations. In addition to sessions and workshops learning from many cooperative contributors, the attendees enjoyed field trips to Walton EMC and Williams Dairy, as well as fun team-building activities at the camp.

Participants were sponsored by Georgia electrical membership cooperatives, who determine participants and cover the cost of the week. We greatly appreciate Ocmulgee EMC, based out of Eastman, for sponsoring Louie for the week.
